Thomas Partey bags a brace as the Black Stars gun down Madagascar

The Black Stars of Ghana secured an emphatic 3-0 victory over Madagascar at the Grand Stade Al-Hociema in their 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier.

A brace from Thomas Partey and a goal from Mohammed Kudus sealed the win, propelling Ghana to 15 points in Group I.

Ghana took the lead in the first half when Thomas Partey connected with a well-delivered cross from Jordan Ayew, heading home the opening goal.

Despite Madagascar showcasing fluid passing play, they struggled to break down Ghana’s solid defence.

Kudus came close to doubling the lead in the 15th minute, but Madagascar’s goalkeeper made a crucial save.

Madagascar edged possession with 51%, yet their efforts lacked the cutting edge needed to threaten Ghana’s backline.

Just before halftime, Partey attempted to set up Antoine Semenyo, but Madagascar’s defence held firm to keep the score at 1-0 going into the break.

The second half saw Ghana take control, with Jordan Ayew once again delivering a pinpoint corner kick that Partey capitalised on to extend the lead.

Five minutes later, Ayew provided another assist, this time finding Mohammed Kudus, who slotted in Ghana’s third goal of the night.

Madagascar had their best opportunity in the 75th minute, but goalkeeper Benjamin Asare produced a fine save to preserve Ghana’s clean sheet.

The Black Stars maintained their composure until the final whistle, securing a dominant win on Moroccan soil.
